I'm from NY and I really love this place. Authentic NY style pizza cooked in a brick oven is hard to find down here. Mama Brava's dough is made fresh daily. Crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, just the way pizza crust is supposed to be. If you are from the north and miss the huge 18 inch pizzas, Mama Brava's has it (monster pizza). One slice covers an entire plate, and one monster (cheese) pizza feeds four adults for only $13.15. That's a great deal, no matter how you slice it. The calzones/strombolis are awesome too, made to the order, stuffed with the toppings you want. The wings won a trophy for "Best on the Beach". Try them and you'll know why. They are fantastic! My kids can't get enough of them. Slightly sweet, not too spicy, these wings are unique to this establishment. Their Bambino (children's) menu offers kid friendly foods (not all of them fried), which includes fresh veggies with ranch. Thanks for all you do, Mama.

I went to this place and I thought the service was excellent, Servers were polite and the wings were the best I ever tasted, very different from the run of the mill wings you get everywhere else. Now I know why this restaurant won four awards for excellence. This awesome wing sauce was for sale under the brand name Manja! I bought four to take back to PA. with me. I may order more to give as gifts at Christmas, it's THAT GOOD. I don't know what the other reviewer's problem was, but this restaurant has been there for 22 years. Guess you have to be doing something right to have a business that long. I picked up a business card at the front counter, they have a website mawjifoods.com. I think they need to advertise more. Everyone should try these wings, they are truly fantastic.

Wow ! We visited after hours, the crew was cleaning up yet they seated us cooked a meal to order and went out of their way to make sure we were happy.After a full day at Holden beach ,the family was starving and sunburnt.Where can you eat late night food.?Great food outstanding service and the pizza cook/owner even came out to meet us in person. Mama Bravas is the beast beach spot.

Mama Brava's of Shallotte, NC just won Wilmington's WWAY Channel 3 "Best Wings in Southeastern NC" Award. This mom and pop restaurant also won the highly coveted American Red Cross "Best on the Beach" award on the famous "restaurant row" in Myrtle Beach, SC. In both competitions they were up against major national franchises like Hooters, and Wild Wings Cafe. These Award Winning Wings are truly amazing! The brick oven pizza and calzones are also excellent!
