Exploring "Generativity" in Adulthood

According to psychosocial theory, most adults experience the desire to be generative. Generativity is a term coined by psychoanalyst Erik Erikson to explain the need at a certain stage of adulthood to make a difference for future generations. Generativity may be expressed through parenting, invention, teaching, improving the physical or social environment and artistic creation. This program will explore the concept of generativity and illustrate the use of psychobiography in that exploration.
